Welcome to Downtown

Downtown

Surrounding the sprawling Capitol lawn, Downtown Lansing has something for everyone during lunch hour, a weekend afternoon, or a night out. Taking a stroll through Downtown is an outing in itself, as the area is known for its walkability and accessibility. Along the River Trail, get some sun at the Rotary Park beach or in a kayak on the Grand River. Swing by the Stadium District for a Lugnuts baseball game and a drink at Lansing Brewing Company, and grab dinner at a local favorite like Kewpee's or EnVie in Washington Square's historic brick streets.

State of Michigan buildings like the Michigan Capitol Building, the Michigan Supreme Court, and the Library of Michigan are beautiful focal points of the Downtown area, offering tours and some casually jaw-dropping architecture. With many offices and Lansing Community College located Downtown, living in a luxury apartment or downtown house would make commuting even more of a breeze.

Lively city vibes with a laid-back community feel.

It’s true, all roads lead to Downtown. The seat of state government, right on a river, with live music venues, sports, lots of entrepreneurs, and everything you need to call a place home.

Hot Spots

More than 30 theatre, dance and musical performances fill LCC's Dart Auditorium, Black Box Theatre and outdoor amphitheater each year.
The entire city will glow with thousands of lights for the Silver Bells in the City celebration, bringing together family and friends from across the state of Michigan and beyond to kick-off the holiday season.
Michigrain is partnering with local farmers to completely redefine what neutral grain spirits can provide to the increased demands of the growing craft spirits industry.
