East Lansing

Welcome to East Lansing

Home to Michigan State University, East Lansing is an energetic town with much to do. Venture on campus to cheer on the Spartans at numerous athletic events, or delve into the arts by experiencing a theatre performance at the Wharton Center or marveling a new exhibit at the Eli & Edythe Broad Art Museum at MSU.

MSU's campus is home to many different tree species and a scenic trail along the Red Cedar River, making it the perfect place for a stroll. Downtown offers various coffee shops, plenty of restaurant options ranging from fast-casual to upscale dining, and a vibrant nightlife thanks to a diverse array of bars. East Lansing boasts plenty of daytime activities, as well. Shop at an assortment of retailers, get locally grown produce at the farmers' market or enjoy one of the many festivals thrown downtown.

Explore tradition while making your own.

MSU and East Lansing are intrinsically intertwined. Many rites have been passed down through the years, like singing karaoke at Crunchy's or taking a picture at the Spartan statue. Through these experiences, you'll discover a strong sense of camaraderie, but also the opportunity to forge your own traditions to last a lifetime.
